A new BTO where the challenge for the designer is to keep the design as minimalist as possible to function as a comfortable home for a retired couple. It was decided that the focal point of the home be a large peninsular where the couple can sit with guests to socialize.

The couple also like pastel colours to make the kitchen cheery and bright. However, they eventually fell in love with the Moss Green colour which they decided to use as one of the colours for their 2 tone kitchen. In order to soften the feel, we decided to go with a simple off-white colour for the top cabinets. 

The couple also decided to use KompacPlus, a durable material, for their counter tops. What makes KompacPlus special is its very slim 6mm profile which makes the counter tops in the kitchen and on the peninsular sleek and sexy. What is more, it comes in various colours and patterns to suit many designs. In this case, the homeowners settled on the Naples Cream series.

The project also included a shoes cabinet at the main entrance of the flat. The shoes cabinet was custom made to enclose the electrical DB for the unit. What turned out was a very neat design that hid away all the shoes and the DB that could otherwise make the home look untidy.
